Founded by a group of friends as a way for stay fit for other sporting pursuits, Hoodlums Touch Club has grown now to boast more than 50 members. Hoodlums compete in the Aberdeen Touch Series events and the Scottish Touch Series every year and, in 2013, competed in (and won!) their first 'touring' tournament in Italy.
The club currently consists of a men’s and women’s team, as well as two mixed squads. There is space for all levels of players, whether they are looking to play socially or to push to play at a more elite level.
The club has players who have played internationally in the mixed, men’s and women’s squads and benefit from coaching from the current Scotland Men’s Open coach, Monica Wallace.
Hoodlums welcome anyone who wants to come and give touch a try; a friendly bunch where you can find a level of touch you are comfortable playing. There are also various club socials throughout the year, making it one of the best Clubs in Aberdeen for socialising.
The Teams
Hoodlums (mixed)
- Hoodlums compete in all Aberdeen Touch tournaments. Our strongest mixed team, the "'Lums", play in the Expert league in the Aberdeen Summer League and aim to be represented at all four of the Scottish Touch Series event throughout the touch season.
Hoodlets (mixed)
- Hoodlets was born out of the continued expansion of the club and is focussed on a more social level of touch. Competing in the Intermediate Summer League in Aberdeen, the "'Lets" is a great place to learn the game. Like the "‘Lums", the team also competes in the Scottish Touch Series.
Hoodlads and Hoodlasses (Men’s and Women’s)
- Our Men’s and Women’s teams play in the Aberdeen leagues over the summer, bringing together players from both mixed teams. These games are usually energetic, fast-paced and great fun.
Training
Training takes place on a Monday evening from 18:30 at Seaton Park in Old Aberdeen. Spring training usually recommences in April, although for specific start dates it is best to contact the club directly or check out the Hoodlums Facebook page.
